Ray Zone, King of 3-D Comics, Dies at 65

On Tuesday of this week Ray Zone, 3D author, historian, artist, and filmmaker, passed away.

His writings on the subject of 3D were immensely influential in the development of my philosophy that 3D is an art form, at a time when the prevailing attitude was that 3D could be nothing more than a gimmick. While I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, I had the honor of being interviewed by him for his book on DIY 3D, and will miss his generous contributions to the stereoscopic community. He was a widely influential voice in the 3D community and one of the few preservationists of early 3D film history.
